# Widgets & Actions
Widgets are project-level summaries or metrics (e.g., totals, averages) produced by AI processing. Actions are automated tasks or workflows (generate reports, create templates).
## Add a widget
1. From the project dashboard, click **Add Widget** or **Create Widget**.
2. Enter a descriptive name and the variable/description (use available tags and variables).
3. Configure refresh triggers (manual, on upload, scheduled) and save.
## Run or regenerate widgets
– Widgets run automatically after ingestion or when you trigger a **Regenerate** action.
– Use the **Actions** panel to run workflows like export, report generation, or DOCX template creation.
– For Word templates, **Create DOCX from Template V2** uses direct `[[tag]]` replacement and is preferred when HTML/widget output formatting needs to be preserved more faithfully.
## Viewing widget status
– Widget status and progress are visible in the dashboard and via active tasks notifications.
## Troubleshooting
– If a widget does not update, ensure there is relevant evidence (files with appropriate tags) and that the ingestion/post-processing services are running.
